What is Private Duty Home Health Care? Private duty home health care differs from certified home health care, in that the certified agencies must follow very specific criteria in order to be "billable". Those agencies which are certified, are paid by Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. The "visits" must include hands on, personal care such as bathing and dressing. Those visits are limited in length and in number by the insurer. The certified agency is not allowed to provide any hourly care. Additionally, the patient must be "home bound". The benefit is, of course, that the visits are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, or Blue Cross Blue Shield. Private duty, on the other hand, does the chores that the patient can no longer do for him or herself. The care provided may include light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and transportation. Automobile insurance and workers compensation insurance cover private duty services when the physician orders care as a result of an injury received in an automobile accident or an incident at work. Individuals may also pay for services privately.
Up to two hours of personal care. Our staff will prepare meals, perform light housekeeping chores, assist with bathing, run errands, or transport to outside appointments.
When a visit isn't enough, our staff can provide extended care from three hours to 24-hour care. They can also "Live-In" if appropriate.
Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses are available for visits or for hourly care. Occupational and Physical Therapists are able to evaluate special needs, prepare an individual plan and carry out the appropriate program. Speech Therapy, Medical Social Work, and a Registered Dietitian are also available.
Individuals who require special services will rest easily knowing that their aide or nurse has experience with bowel and bladder techniques as well as knowledge and training with various ventilator systems.
We provide specialized staff to meet the needs of long term care facilities, Adult Foster Care homes and Assisted Living facilities. Our employees are tested and certified either as CENA's or Home Health Aides. They are carefully screened and reference checked. We investigate background and make note of any special skills or areas of strength each particular employee may have. Our agency provides on-going training and education throughout the year. CPR certification and First Aid training are required.
Full nursing assessments (at no charge) including: nutritional, mobility and dexterity evaluations. Transportation to medical or personal appointments. Continuing education for nursing and field staff.
